Web development and machine learning

What should I do? I’m a first-year computer science student and started learning web development but I have more interest in machine learning. I’m learning web development because I want to get into the market and make some money because In my country there are not many jobs for machine learning.So my question is that should a pursuit web development career for the temporary purpose or should I quit learning web development and focus on machine learning from know on.
