what is the wrong using TCP for android app and spring mcv data exchange?

Why do we have to use a thrd party code for instant messaging or push data from a web server to android aplication?

Is this wrong creating a TCP server at web sidefor instance I use spring mcv and hibernate. Then create a TCP client at android app. Then connect and accept request in threads for instance.

Isnt this works?
