I want to build an online casino for my friends and dont know which platform to use [on hold]

I understand I may be able to do what I have in mind through a native client, but would prefer to keep it web based... I would like to know the best language and platform to make this in. asp.net, is C++ possible, even flash? What back end should i use? What libraries should i use if there are any? Any resources or books that cover the things I need to know?

I don't need to know much, just the best way to make it work online, look nice, and have it be secure and what the best method to make it work while achieve those preferences would be.

Sorry if some see this to be a stupid question, but it seems pretty straight forward to me. If there's other questions that need to be answered that I left out, ask me. I'm not too familiar with the resources that would be best suited to make what I want to this time around.
