Web Push Notification for Chrome Mozilla

I want to use the Web Push Notification for chrome or whatever browser supports this feature. I have found the goroost api, but as it's a third party api and i don't want to use this in my website.

What are the other ways through which i can use the Web Notifications? I want to prompt a notification as soon as new article will become live on my website?

I hope Google Notification can do this job. But how i will implement this is not clear to me. I think i will have to use the REST service to accomplish this?

Is there any article on the web which can guide me my step by step?
