WATSON API app dev skills

I am not a developer so I know very little about the programming languages but I have an idea about a product and I am looking for developers to put the product together, so I want know what skills should I be looking for in a developer to work with Watson API for web and mobile apps, my applications would be 1. Web application making Watson API calls 2. Mobile app making Watson API calls
