Closing intermediate SSO window

I redirect user(by opening new window) to a SSO URL for updating his profile. I can pass redirect URL to tell SSO provider where to redirect once user is done. I want to close this window after SSO action is done and take user to redirect URL provided to SSO provider earlier. I want to ask how could I close this new window as it was opened from my domain window?
