What do I need to learn and in what order to start building a nodejs and express server?

I want to create a web server with nodejs and express on the backend and javascript/html5/css (at least for starters) on the frontend.

I know I should learn html, css, and then javascript first. Should I then start looking into nodejs and express? Also, what database technologies integrate well (or are currently popular) with nodejs and express? And where does apache fit into all of this and where/how should I go about learning it?

Can someone with experience with a nodejs and express based web stack chime in with any suggestions/pointers? A list of what to learn and the best order of learning each component is what I'm really looking for. Details are appreciated!
