I have some programming and IT experience but it's all quite scattered. So, assuming I'm a complete newbie, what would you recommend for a quick and easy way to setup a web form and database for use?
I need quick and easy because if this works out I'll be approved to get my solution professionally developed. I simply want to create a request form people can submit through a web interface. This data gets put into a database so I can track and report on the requests. I would like to not have to setup a separate server if possible. Hosting on my desktop is fine for now. This is for use in my department, so I only expect a maximum of about 50 people to use this and only about 5-10 submissions a day. Currently it's all done through paper request forms and an Excel spreadsheet :-/
I've come across ASP.NET & MySQL, Sharepoint & Access, PHP & MySQL, along with a few other solutions. But these all seem a bit too involved for my purpose. Very steep learning curve and require setting up servers. What do you guys recommend?
