Note - I'm not sure where I could ask about this, if this is not the right place, it would be appreciated if you could point me towards where I should ask the question.
I am a Java developer and am very new to developing web platforms. I want to get some advice/opinions on what to use, how to approach my problem.
As of right now, I am looking at using the ZK framework as it uses Java, or possibly CakePHP. Im sure there are many good frameworks but these are two of the many I have looked at.
Frontend Requirements - Display information in a nice modern view. Looks the same on any device. Simple flow to allow the user to find historical data, create reports and charts.
Backend Requirements - Maintain a large amount of data. Data will be retrieved from different locations. The data is being mined from a Linux data logger at the locations. Analyse the data either on the data logger or on the server.
General Requirements - Building displays that link the data and visuals to a template that can be implemented in a large scale. Making changes to a template will change all displays that implement the template.
Thanks
