how to use apache lucene solr nutch?

i am here for a solution of my problen right now i m doing my fyp and we need to use a webcrawler that can crawl the related data and return it to us via xml doc or any of its kind my teacher asked to use apache lucene solr and nutch first question is that is there any need to learn lucene if i m trying to learn solr and other thing is that i have visited youtube.com and much more websites to learn lucene solr or nutch but no proper guidence available you can say i m illetrate in this apache thrice manner kindly help me that how should i start what should i do in one tutorial person was using eclipse but i m going to make a web app so what software is needed to implement my java files m not good at explaining my problem kindly reply me as m in problem thanks in advcance
