How can I call an executable on my local machine from my website hosted somewhere else? (Python or Javascript)

I would like to run a program on my computer whenever someone presses a button on my website.

Site is coded in Javascript and Python, so I could use either to call this executable

I would like to pass information back and forth, just need someone to point me in the right direction.
