Right technology for single page dynamic website

There is a spiritual book written by my guru called "Daily thoughts". It contains 365 one page thoughts for 365 days. I want to set up a single page website, which loads that day thought, when a user logs in. The user can also choose another day thought by a calendar control.

I am a backend developer and limited exposure to front end technologies. Please suggest me the right technology to implement this kind of website.
