School Web Application with PHP and MYSQL [on hold]

I need to create a web application for managing parents and their children's records at school. I have a table in mysql with name surname and role(parent, child or admin), I need to make a connection between parent and children. One parent can have one or more child and they can see their children profile. How to connect these two roles together with PHP and MYSQL?
