API for UK inflation and base interest rate data

I'm a relative newbie to coding and interfacing with the web, recently learning how to code using python.

I'm looking to develop a tool using python that will scrape the web for historical inflation and base rate interest rate data from the UK. Intuitively this seems like something that might be widely done, however my search so far hasn't yielded much.

Any help/pointers/links would be most welcome.
