extract data from a website and display it on my own website

I'm in the process of creating my own website (purely for my own use & it'll be hosted on a raspberry pi) and I would like to pull in some information from another site and display it on my own.

In terms of hardware I have a Raspberry Pi 2 and an Arduino uno with an Ethernet shield.

Are either of these options viable or should I look in to others, also which programming language would be best?
