Disadvantages in hosting an static HTML site in a subdirectory of a WP site?

This could be an obvious question but I'm wondering if there are any disadvantages in hosting a static HTML site in a subdirectory of a WP site. Other than having a url like this: http://ift.tt/2mIz9rO.

I'm planning on redirecting a different domain name to the subdirectory url. Thanks!
