Should I use a web framework between the mobile/desk application and AWS?

I hope to build an app which allows user to visualize the data processed at the AWS side.

Since there are already APIs which connect AWS stuff, like S3, to the applications (iOS, Android,...). Do I still need to use a web framework, like Django, between the mobile/desk application and AWS? What is the advantage of using a framework on top of AWS?
