steps to use cordova.js on my wesite to get device unique id

What am trying to do is get a unique id of the device (mobile,tablet,desktop ) from my website (not an app ) it is a website . I I searched online for solution and I found that you can do it with Cordova.js but my problem is I don't know how to use it on my project I mean how to set it up I did add the Cordova.js file but it seem am messing some steps please I need the steps on how to use it .or if there is other way to identify a device uniquely .
