BIND DNS server link domain to LAN IP

Question

I'm trying to linkup my personal domain name to a server within my network. How would I do this on a BIND DNS Server?

example.com => 192.168.1.105

Personal research

I've read this in my searching, however, I cannot figure out how this would work if I do not have a /etc/bind/zones directory...

Specs

I'm running a clean install of BIND9 on Debian 8 Jessie with a physical Ethernet connection to my router (NETGEAR).
