Web hosting 500 Internal Server Error

I just bought a web server(Windows Hosting with Plesk) in Go Daddy and i put all my coding files in the files manager. After that it display 500 Internal Server Error I m not sure how to fix it. Anyone can help me? P.S I have research a bit about .htaccess I m not sure what is it and do i need it to fix my problem ?
