IE compatibility with Javascript [on hold]

I have a question to ask.

I have a website that will keep records in the database, and will send an email once its done. It was developed using javascript, and it can only run in IE due to some compatibility issue. What I realised is that, whenever the browser is opened for too long, send email function wont work. Thus, users have to close the browser, refresh and will have to redo again all the steps.

is there a way to overcome this. I tried the <sessionState timeout = "1"/>, same issue persist.
